Its short reach and drop allow you to set up the bike for control and comfort in the drops, something most road bars don't.
It has a wide (375mm) center section that lets you mount up computers, lights, bags ,and what have you and still have a place for your hands.

They take ROAD LEVERS, clamp in MTB STEMS and have a much shallower drop than most bars on the market, which means you can ride on the drops more often, have great access to the brake levers and descend steep stuff with far more confidence than you'd ever imagine (some say they can descend rougher terrain better on these than on a regular flat bar).
