Caleb’s Keno Report

The weekend of the 4th of July, Mike Rinnan held the Legion Of Dirt, Hammer Down Hammacker race in Keno Or. A resurrected/re-routed downhill track from the early 2000s. It was loose, tight, and dusty. But quite fun to ride!! I mean, who doesn’t like riding in moon dust?! The race format was in true Unreal Cycles timing fashion. The jam format!!! As many runs as you can do within a 3 hour time period, and only your best one counts! This is seriously one of the most fun race set ups you will ever experience.

Racing started at 11, and I was the first one down the hill. I managed to get in 3 runs, with my fastest being in the low 4:40s. I was the only one to break the 5 min mark as well, which gave me the win for the day!! Even though it was a small race, it always feels good to win. But let’s not dwell on that.

The best part of the weekend was after the race… A raffle where everyone wins!!!! And not just once, but 4 times!! Guys were walking away with armfuls of swag! And to too it off… A scrambled egg hunt (it’s not Easter so we can’t call it am Easter egg hunt) with the eggs being filled with candy. Who doesn’t like candy? But even better than candy, there are two eggs out there that have 50 dollars in them… So basically if you find them you just became 100 dollars richer!

All in all it was a great weekend of racing and hangin out with fun people! Thanks to Unreal Cycles for the flawless timing, and the support as always! Until the next one…
