Santa Cruz Demo Day

What’s a better way to spend your Saturday than with bikes, beer, and barbecue? Well, that’s exactly what happened on August 8th when Demo Day was held at Unreal Cycles featuring several bikes from Santa Cruz that were itching to get their tread on the trails.

Two guided rides were held that day with almost ten riders each. After meeting at Unreal Cycles with their gear, the riders were shuttled to John’s Peak in Jacksonville.

The riders’ first task was to set off from the Red Rock parking lot and see how their reserve demo bikes fared climbing up the road to Jacksonville’s narrow single track.
I was happily able to tag along with my camera in hand and capture the happenings of the day.
After the ride, the exuberant mountain bikers were carried back to the shop and treated to some much appreciated beer and barbecue provided by the Local Home Brew Club and local meat grillers who volunteered their time. Despite some unfamiliar faces, everyone was happy to be there and meet new people who shared a similar interest. If you missed Demo Day this time, be sure to come next time and take part in the fun.
